In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
OPENING PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION
O Most Holy Mary, as we celebrate your Assumption in body and soul to the glory of Heaven, we implore you to help us to live with faith and hope in this world, seeking always and in all things the Kingdom of God.
O Lady assumed to Heaven, help us to open ourselves to the presence and action of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit that creates and renews, capable of transforming our hearts.
O Lady of the Assumption, enlighten our minds about the destiny that awaits us – the eternal joy in the heavenly homeland – of the dignity of each one of us and the nobility of our bodies and of our souls, who may one day be with you in the glory of Heaven.
O Blessed Virgin Mary, raised to Heaven, show yourself to us all as Mother of faith, hope, and love!
A SHORT MEDITATION ON THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY BY FR. CHINAKA, OSJ (PART VI)
Dear friends in Christ, the Solemnity of the Assumption is not just for the Blessed Virgin Mary alone. First of all, it glorifies Christ, the author of our salvation, because, in Mary’s Assumption, the victory over death is revealed, which Jesus has already conquered. Secondly, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a precious anticipation of our resurrection and is based on the Resurrection of Christ, which will transform our corruptible body, making it similar to Christ’s glorious body (cf. Phil 3:21). Mary’s Assumption fills us with confidence and illumines our hope. Saint Josemaria Escrivá teaches: “We are still pilgrims, but our Mother has preceded us and already, indicating the end of the road: she encourages us that it is possible to get there and that we will get there if we are faithful because the Blessed Virgin is not just our example: she is the Help of Christians.” (To be continued…)
Silent Prayer and Reflection…
DAY 6 PRAYER
Highly exalted Mother, your assumption into heaven is a proof that God is inseparable from His grace. The Archangel told you that you are “full of grace,” and continues: “the Lord is with you.” It emphasizes thus that God, the only absolute and eternal Being, no longer wants to be without you, and that you are not without God. From this valley of tears, where we pilgrims are comforted by faith in the future resurrection, we look to you, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. Draw us with the softness of your voice, to show us one day, after this exile, Jesus, the blessed fruit of your womb. Before your majesty, I present the following intentions for your maternal care (state your requests).
Recite 3 Hail Marys for the favour you seek to obtain.
O Queen assumed into heaven, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Mother of God
O sovereign queen of the Angels, we well know that as miserable sinners, we were not worthy to possess you in this vale of tears, and we know that your greatness does not make you forget our misery. In the midst of so much glory, your compassion, far from diminishing, increases more and more for us. From the height of that throne where you reign over all the angels and saints, turn your merciful gaze upon us; see how many storms and a thousand dangers encircle us in these turbulent times. Our queen and mother, obtain for us the increase in faith, confidence, and holy perseverance in friendship with God, so that we can, one day, go kiss your feet and unite our voices with those of the heavenly spirits,
to praise and sing your glories eternally in heaven – Ave Maria! Amen.
Hail, Queen of Heaven, the ocean Star,
Guide of the wanderer here below,
Thrown on life’s surge, we claim thy care:
Save us from peril and from woe.
Mother of Christ, star of the sea,
Pray for the wanderer, pray for me.
O gentle, chaste and spotless Maid,
From sin’s domain, God kept thee free,
Plead with thy Son, for He has paid
The price of our iniquity.
Virgin most pure, star of the sea,
Pray for the sinner, pray for me.
And while to Him who reigns above,
In Godhead One, in Persons Three,
The source of life, of grace and love,
Homage we pay on bended knee.
Mother and Queen, star of the sea,
Pray for thy children, pray for me.
Through the intercession of Our Lady assumed into heaven, may the Lord bless + us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
